The Glue That Binds
It’s “Cynthia-Syntax-Tactics”
Syntax is the way in which words are put together. Tactics are methods for accomplishing an end.
CynTactics is the glue that binds the beginning of my professional theatre career in Ashland at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival (Associate Director and Director of Play Development) to where I am today teaching, directing, and developing new work. CynTactics also points toward a future where I will remain fascinated by the structures created with written words, whether spoken aloud and resonating in a living space between actors and audience, digitized and heard by audiences remote in space and time, or simply read as text. How do the words resonate differently with the changing medium?
